PROPOSAL

"First and foremost, any business proposal I like must sound fun"

Proposal Summary:

I am proposing a unique way of educating digital privacy, through osmosis; the process of unconsciously collecting and understanding new knowledge. It will be similar to The Glass Room, but instead of art, it is represented through a movie.

Audience:

My target audience is the general public, those who use the internet without a second thought of safety. The decision-makers come down to directors, supporters, those interested in promoting educating safety.

Rationale:

Our digital privacy is constantly at risk. While we let non-organizations and big-name groups confront the decision-makers about our lack of suitable policies, we must be educating the public in the meantime. People don’t commonly find themselves reading through the policies before clicking, “I agree”, nor do we go straight to websites and viewing policies in regards to double-checking policies to be 100% sure that we safe. In order to educate people, they must be educated unconsciously for what is not wanted is not taken.

Going through visual concepts are ideal when it comes to osmosis educating. I wanted to propose a movie over an art piece for an art piece you know you’re learning during the process, whereas in movies it isn’t recognized until afterward due to being caught up in the storyline.

Movie Outline:

I am proposing that more movies are created to unconsciously educate the public about digital privacy.

  • Create a background storyline

    • Use background stories that are most relatable to all people

  • Sneak it stats, even if it just flashes on a computer screen

  • Intervene in the storyline by providing a digital problem due to lack of keeping personal information safe

    • This can be done by clearly viewing the actor not reading the policies of a new popular app

    • A go-to idea can be unknown digital criminal

    • Identity is stolen

  • Present the outcomes of these digital problems

    • Bank account empty

    • Social security at risk

    • Someone committing a crime under your name

  • Reflect on if there is an outside source supporting the actor in retrieving their information
